PPCW-16/24/32/40
WINCOO
The PPCW series chuck lifting pipe welding center from WINCOO ENGINEERING CO.,LTD is the highest-productivity welding station in a medium-to-heavy wall pipe spool fabrication line. Combining tungsten argon arc welding (TIG) for the root pass with fine-wire submerged arc welding (SAW) for filling and capping, it delivers 250–500 DN/day prefabrication output with RT qualification rates above 99% — the workhorse choice for pressure piping, boiler and process plant spool shops.
The PPCW welding center integrates a heavy-duty lifting chuck positioner with a mobile column-and-cantilever welding machine traveling on a linear guide rail. The chuck rotates the pipe under the torch for circumferential welds, while the cantilever positions the torch along the spool axis — so a single clamping session welds multiple joints in sequence, from short spools to 12 m long pipe sections.
The recommended process route is TIG root welding (below DN150, full TIG) then fine-wire SAW filling and capping above DN150, combining the gap tolerance of TIG root passes with the high deposition rate of SAW for thick walls.

TIG + Fine-Wire SAW Dual-Process Station One machine performs both the TIG root pass (or full TIG on small bores) and high-deposition fine-wire SAW filling/capping. This hybrid route is the industry's most productive combination for medium-to-heavy wall carbon and alloy steel spools.
Chuck Lifting Boosts Loading Efficiency 5× The chuck raises and lowers electrically to align the pipe centerline with the torch — workpieces are loaded and unloaded without overhead lifting gymnastics. WINCOO's lifting chuck design increases auxiliary (loading/unloading) efficiency by more than five times compared with fixed-chuck machines.
3-Jaw Self-Centering Precision Chuck The precision machine chuck clamps pipes firmly and rotates them at VFD-stepless speeds, holding run-out to machine-tool tolerances for consistent circumferential weld quality.
Automatic Flux Delivery & Recovery The SAW flux transport/recovery all-in-one unit creates a closed loop — flux cartridge → hopper → recovery cart → cartridge — with automatic refill sensing and slag filtering, keeping the station clean and the flux fresh for repeated passes.
WSP Pipe Welding Expert Control System PLC + 10" touch-screen HMI stores up to 50 welding recipes. Operators select a recipe, confirm the parameters, and the system runs multi-layer multi-pass welding automatically. Hands-on training time: 2–3 days for operators with no welding background.
Arc Tracking & Oscillation Precision AVC arc sensor tracking (10–1000 mm/min, sensitivity >±0.2 V) compensates for pipe ovality; CNC linear oscillators with 0.5 mm resolution produce even, uniform weld ripple on both TIG and SAW passes.
Carbon-Pollution-Protected Design All surfaces contacting the pipe are coated, stainless steel or blackened — safe for stainless steel and duplex workpieces without cross-contamination.
The PPCW welding center serves as the main welding station for medium and heavy wall spools in the WINCOO prefabrication line:
Pressure piping and process plant spool fabrication
Boiler, HRSG and power plant piping (TIG root + SAW fill)
Oil & gas, refinery and chemical module piping
LNG and cryogenic piping (low-temperature steel, duplex)
Shipbuilding pipe workshops
It welds the complete joint portfolio — pipe + pipe, pipe + flange, pipe + reducer, pipe + tee and pipe + elbow — in a single clamping cycle, with the cantilever traveling along the track to reach every joint of a multi-joint spool.
One station, two processes — TIG quality root pass with SAW economics on fill/cap
5× faster loading via chuck lifting for higher machine utilization
50 stored recipes make thick-wall multi-pass welding repeatable and operator-independent
Fully CE / ASME / HSE compliant design with international brand components (Lincoln or Aotai power sources, Delta PLC, Schneider, Omron, WEINVIEW)
Complete line supply — integrate with WINCOO cutting, fitting-up and conveying stations for a turnkey pipe prefabrication plant
