The following short description gives the working procedure in outline. It can in certain details be modified when required.
Step 1. The tank bottom – plates are placed on the prepared foundation and welded together.
Step 2. The beams or lattice work of the roof are assembled and finally joined to the upper rim of the shell ring.
Step 3. The jacking equipment is installed in the tank. The plates of the second shell ring (next to the top ring) are positioned outside the first one.
Step 4. The completed part of the tank (roof and top shell ring) is lifted hydraulically to a height at which the plates of the second ring can be moved into place and the roof sheeting can be completed.
Step 5. The plates of the second shell ring are located exactly and welded together to the lower edge of the first ring.
Step 6. The plates of the third shell ring are placed outside the second shell ring.
Step 7. The completed part of the tank (roof the two uppermost shell rings) is lifted.
Step 8. The above cycle of operations is repeated until the last (bottom) shell ring is finished.
Step 9. The entire tank is lowered down to the bottom plate and welded to this.
Step 10. The lifting equipment is dismantled.
The tank construction process needs two kinds of equipment, respectively is the welding machine and the hydraulic jacking system, the welding machine is divided into the horizontal welding machine and the vertical welding machine;the hydraulic jacking system is also divided into senior hydraulic jacking system and simple hydraulic jacking system.(If your tank is bottom to top,you don’t need the hydraulic jacking system.)
1. Adjust the operating vehicle
According to the width of the steel plate, adjust the height of the operating vehicle, so that the distance between the bottom edge of the wheel and the upper surface of the tray can reach the width of the steel plate. At this time, the upper limit of the tray is adjusted in the middle position, and the beam of the tray can also be adjusted accordingly in the construction according to the situation.After adjusting the operation car, be sure to insert the puncture pin of the column and tighten the screws to ensure the smooth operation of the car during walking
2. Power access
Make sure there is no short circuit in the operation car, place the welding power switch in the correct position of automatic welding, turn on the power, and close the main switch of the welding power supply.And test and debug the system is normal operation.
3. Clean the groove
The Angle grinder is used to clean up the oil and rust in the groove, remove burrs, splashes and solder spots on the groove surface. The lower vertical joints of the steel plate are ground to 100mm, and the contact points between the upper vertical joints and the transverse joints are handled well to make the bottom of the groove smooth and smooth, so as not to hinder the movement of the pallet along the steel plate.
4. Install the welding wire
Put the wire into the wire tray for fastening, and then cut off part of the bundled string.
A hose should be added between the welding wire plate and the welding gun to avoid electric leakage between the welding wire and the body.The pressing force of the straightening wheel should be small to avoid bending of the welding wire caused by excessive pressure.After the welding wire is inserted into the gun barrel, close the wire feeding pressing wheel and press the "wire feeding" button to send the welding wire out of the conductive nozzle for a length. At this time, all the binding ropes are cut open.The pressing degree of the pressing wheel should be appropriate. If it is too loose, it will cause the wire to slip. If it is too tight, it will cause the wire indentation to be too large, and the resistance will increase, leading to the instability of the welding arc.When the conductive tip is worn too much, it must be replaced in time, otherwise the conduction is not reliable, and it is easy to cause the welding arc instability.
5. Filling flux
The flux shall be dried with a special drying box, and the heating temperature shall be as per the requirements of the flux. After heating, the flux shall be kept warm to about 50℃.When the flux temperature is too high, it can not be loaded into the flux box, so as not to burn the flux pipe.Pay attention to clean the dust on the filter cover in the flux box to ensure the suction of recovery.
6. Adjust the torch
Adjust the position and Angle of the welding torch so that it is in the center of the supporting belt.Operator requires that the stretching length of the wire is 20-30mm, that is, the distance between the conductive tip of the welding gun and the steel plate. The Angle of the welding gun is generally about 25 degrees.
7. Adjust the flux transport and recovery system
Adjust and operate the roof wheel, so that the tray is separated from the steel plate. Adjust the supporting belt on the tray to about 15-20mm below the groove, and then remove the roof wheel from the steel plate, so that the supporting belt contacts the tank wall, and test the operation for about 1M to check whether it is in normal operation.Adjust the relative position of the conveying port and the welding gun to ensure that the welding flux can fully protect the welding point;Adjust the position of the recovery port to ensure that all unreacted flux can be recovered to the flux tray.
8. Check whether the welding power switch is correct, whether the ground wire contacts and conducts well, check whether the switch behind the operation box is in the "automatic" position, and close the welding power switch.
9. Adjust the wire does not contact the steel plate, open the wire feed pressing wheel, press the "start" button of welding, at this time the voltmeter is displayed, adjust the voltage to 35V, and adjust the current to make the wire feed wheel speed is appropriate, press the "stop" button.(This work is mainly to ensure that the arc is easy to start after welding, the welding current and arc voltage are stable and the arc is normal.)

1. Hydraulic lifting equipment must be operated by specialized operators;
2. Ground wire must be installed for hydraulic pump station;
3. Check whether motor is rotating in pump indicated direction after startup; motor for this equipment is step-down startup with six second interval. Supply oil for jack after full start of the motor; exhaust air in system via exhaust valve before lifting;
4. Rated pressure for hydraulic system is 25Mpa and pressure indication of pump station pressure gauge cannot exceed 26Mpa;
5. Check clamp block of upper and lower clamps for slip during jack lifting. If block teeth are filled with foreign matters, clean on time and clean the taper sleeve outside block. Grease the taper surface to reduce sliding friction between taper surface and block arc; if teeth shaped surface is severely worn more than 0.4mm, replace block on time. Remove upper and lower clamps and clean after each project. Check wear condition and replace when necessary;
6. Check whether exhaust valve is closed before lifting;
7. Increase pressure slowly during adjustment;
8. System pressure can be at 28Mpa for a short time. Avoid long-term operation for damaging the system;
9. Do not crash high pressure oil pipe with hard objects. Avoid welding slag scorching. Replace high pressure rubber pipe for loss on time;
10. Release the pressure in system via exhaust valve when replacing hydraulic components;
11. Lift jack for a few millimeters when loosening clamp. Unload lower clamp and loosen it;
12. Loosen all lower clamps for butt joint and check; if looseness is inadequate, do not descend jack for opposite joint to avoid lower clamp damage;
13. Adjust pressure precisely when jack is ascending or descending in place. Do not put solenoid valve at neutral position to avoid instantaneous overvoltage;
14. Long-term overload operation is prohibited;
Hydraulic oil level in oil tank should be regularly maintained to normal level. Due to large capacity chamber of piping and hydraulic cylinder, it is mostly required to fill adequate hydraulic oil. After startup, hydraulic oil enters pipeline and cylinder, oil level decreases and filter even shows above oil level. Replenish hydraulic oil once again. It’s inevitable that hydraulic oil has loss during use, therefore, observe oil level regularly and replenish on time to maintain it at the middle position of level meter;
Hydraulic oil shall be kept clean always. Use oil filter vehicle when filling hydraulic oil with filtration precision below 30υm;
Replacing cycle for hydraulic coil is one year for normal operation;
Discharge all residual oil in tank when replacing hydraulic oil and refill after cleaning the tank. Filtration precision of new oil shall not be lower than precision of the system. Oil amount in tank shall be maintained within fixed level range;
Oil temperature shall be appropriate, not more than 60℃. Check for abnormal oil temperature rise. Start hydraulic pump and operate as required after oil temperature reaches 15 ℃ during winter;
Pay attention to the following for initial startup of hydraulic pump:
1) Hydraulic oil level in the tank shall be at the full position of vernier;
2) Check rotation direction of motor and it shall be clockwise seen from motor tail (arrow direction). If the direction id reversed, stop immediately and regain operation after handling;
3) Step up after 10 minutes’ idle operation of pump station;
Pay attention to check return oil filter. Replace cartridge for damage on time;
Before starting and stopping hydraulic pump, unload the overflow valve;
Spares for wear parts (seal ring, clamp block, etc.) shall be available at all times for timely replacement;
Set pressure of overflow valve cannot exceed maximum pressure of hydraulic system;
Check and maintain the jack before operation to ensure there is no oil leakage, clamp and the whole machine is in good condition;
When inserting lifting rod, the jack shall be loosened (loosening nuts at upper and lower clamps are screwed upward in place). Note that lifting rod and jack shall be almost concentric. Reset upper and lower clamps for normal operation and make the jack in operating state;
Prevent mud and sand from entering hydraulic rubber pipes during connection to avoid damaging hydraulic system and the jack;
Overpressure (overload) is prohibited during operation;
Lifting height shall exceed 20-30mm of coaming height and make jack piston at middle position for butt weld;
Make the jack at lifting state when descending the rod and oil pressure cannot be higher than that during lifting, that is to adjust oil pressure below that during normal lifting and then loosen lower clamp. After the jack is back stroke and lifted steel plate falls on newly surrounded plates, the jack bears no load. Loosen upper clamp and lifting rod descends;
According to actual ambient temperature, it is decided to use N46 anti-wear hydraulic oil for the system and mix of other grades is prohibited;
Clean and maintain the jack on time after one project, especially attachment at clamp block teeth. Replace for severe teeth wear and repair the replaced jack.
